Honesty abides in Trust

In the teacher's manual in A Course in Miracles there is a section called "What are the characteristics of God's teachers. It then begins to go through those particular characteristics. The first one is called Trust. In that section called Trust it goes into six different stages of the development of trust.

I'd like to share on that a little today because it's so powerfully true.

The first stage of the development of trust is called a period of undoing. The second is called a period of sorting out. The third is called a period of relinquishment. The fourth is called a period of settling down. The fifth is called a period of unsettling. The sixth is called a period of achievement. All of these traits rest on one thing alone and that is Trust and so the next section is called honesty and that is what I will read from A Course in Miracles underneath the above scribing.

II. Honesty

1. All other traits of God’s teachers rest on trust. ²Once that has been achieved, the others cannot fail to follow. ³Only the trusting can afford honesty, for only they can see its value. ⁴Honesty does not apply only to what you say. ⁵The term actually means consistency. ⁶There is nothing you say that contradicts what you think or do; no thought opposes any other thought; no act belies your word; and no word lacks agreement with another. ⁷Such are the truly honest. ⁸At no level are they in conflict with themselves. ⁹Therefore it is impossible for them to be in conflict with anyone or anything.
