Cultivating Inner Calm through gentleness

A powerful truth in resting continually in an inner calmness, is gentleness. Not only the gentleness with others, the gentleness with ourselves as well. 

Can we rest in a gentle calmness, a gentle quietness, a gentle peace, that embraces our entire being? 

The truth is, non-judgment and total surrender in the moment cultivates inner calmness that is gentleness in every way, in all areas of our life.

4th characteristic of a Teacher of God

IV. Gentleness

1. Harm is impossible for God’s teachers. ²They can neither harm nor be harmed. ³Harm is the outcome of judgment. ⁴It is the dishonest act that follows a dishonest thought. ⁵It is a verdict of guilt upon a brother, and therefore on oneself. ⁶It is the end of peace and the denial of learning. ⁷It demonstrates the absence of God’s curriculum, and its replacement by insanity. ⁸No teacher of God but must learn,—and fairly early in his training,—that harmfulness completely obliterates his function from his awareness. ⁹It will make him confused, fearful, angry and suspicious. ¹⁰It will make the Holy Spirit’s lessons impossible to learn. ¹¹Nor can God’s Teacher be heard at all, except by those who realize that harm can actually achieve nothing. ¹²No gain can come of it.

2. Therefore, God’s teachers are wholly gentle. ²They need the strength of gentleness, for it is in this that the function of salvation becomes easy. ³To those who would do harm, it is impossible. ⁴To those to whom harm has no meaning, it is merely natural. ⁵What choice but this has meaning to the sane? ⁶Who chooses hell when he perceives a way to Heaven?⁷And who would choose the weakness that must come from harm in place of the unfailing, all-encompassing and limitless strength of gentleness? ⁸The might of God’s teachers lies in their gentleness, for they have understood their evil thoughts came neither from God’s Son nor his Creator. ⁹Thus did they join their thoughts with Him Who is their Source. ¹⁰And so their will, which always was His Own, is free to be itself.

Although this may appear as a process of the conditioned mind, in Truth it is a gentle transition from false to True. What can be a sacrifice is merely an offering of releasing a heavy load of debris that the ego burdened us with.  For example when Coaching folks through a physical detox, the first step is clearing out the toxins that have built up over the years. It may be vital to let go of foods that are not supporting optimal health. Is it giving up, or merely making room for health? All that is really occurring is making room for Divine Truth to Direct all areas of Life. This can appear uncomfortable, until Holy Spirit lifts the veil of false perceptions. Free at last when seen from Truth. God "IS"  and we cease to think, but merely  "BE" Intuitively moved. 4. Perhaps you think it is your childhood home that you would find again. ²The childhood of your body, and its place of shelter, are a memory now so distorted that you merely hold a picture of a past that never happened. ³Yet there is a Child in you Who seeks His Father’s house, and knows that He is alien here. ⁴This childhood is eternal, with an innocence that will endure forever. ⁵Where this Child shall go is holy ground. ⁶It is His Holiness that lights up Heaven, and that brings to earth the pure reflection of the light above, wherein are earth and Heaven joined as one.

5. It is this Child in you your Father knows as His Own Son. ²It is this Child Who knows His Father. ³He desires to go home so deeply, so unceasingly, His voice cries unto you to let Him rest a while. ⁴He does not ask for more than just a few instants of respite; just an interval in which He can return to breathe again the holy air that fills His Father’s house.⁵You are His home as well. ⁶He will return. ⁷But give Him just a little time to be Himself, within the peace that is His home, resting in silence and in peace and love.
